Winemaking notes
La Forge Estate Wines originate from the meeting of three different worlds of wine: France, Australia, Italy, different know how put together by Giorgio Grai and Jean-Claude Mas. The result is wine with an outstanding personality and elegance. At La Forge Estate we craft our wines from low yield vines (2.6 tons per acre), with a traditional long maceration. The grapes are destemmed and undergo a cool maceration for ten days with daily pump overs at the beginning of the maceration. The wine is very softly pressed with a pneumatic press and the ?rst pressings are re-blended with the free run wine. Malolactic fermentation occurs in 225 liter oak barrels. The wine is aged for six months in oak.
Viticultural notes
Vines grow on clay and limestone soils with gravel.
