Winemaking notes
Two hundred years ago, in 1818, Madame Clicquot created the very first blended rosé in the Champagne region. She broke with the accepted practice of using an elderberry-based preparation to color the wine and instead blended some of her fine Bouzy red wine with her classic champagne. The result was the first blended rosé, the Veuve Clicquot Rosé. Once more, Madame Clicquot was leading the way and changing the rules. And she could only do that thanks to the exceptional quality of her red wines, coming from sought-after vineyards. The secret was, and is, in the blend.
Tasting notes
The wine has a luminous color with attractive pink glints. The nose is generous and elegant, with initial aromas of fresh red fruits (raspberry, wild strawberry, cherry, blackberry) leading to biscuity notes (almond, apricot and brioche). The fresh attack is followed by a fruity harmonious sensation on the palate. The wine is perfectly balanced in the best Veuve Clicquot style of pink champagnes, combining elegance and flair. The wine works its magic – this delectably full champagne can be enjoyed as a true delicacy. Full bodied and deliciously fruity, with intense flavors of juicy ripe strawberries and cherries, Veuve Clicquot’s Rosé is a burst of red fruits and the expression of Madame Clicquot’s ingenious and audacious spirit.
